CALL FOR PARTICIPANTS: International Summer Course, “Religious Metaphors and Philosophical Concepts: New Perspectives on Phenomenology and Theology,” Sibiu-Cisnadie, 27 August - 5 September 2007

The Summer Course will start with a 2 day International Colloquium “Philosophical Concepts and Religious Metaphors: New Perspectives on Phenomenology and Theology”, to be held in Sibiu (27-28 August 2007). The Summer Course and will continue in Sambata de Sus (29 August - 5 September 2007).

The aim of this Summer Course is to gather together students familiar with the connection between phenomenology and theology, in order to discuss, under the guidance of well-known scholars specialized in this field, the frontier and the various lines of intersection between the phenomenological and the theological point of view.

Languages:
The Summer Course will be held in English and French.

Admission:
The Summer Course is opened to 22 young students (enrolled in MA or PhD programs), having concrete interest in the topic “phenomenology and theology”.

The admission is made on the basis of  an application including:
(1) The Curriculum Vitae of the candidate
(2) The statement of purpose reflecting the student’s interest in the topic
(3) The project of a conference to be held during the Summer Course

Structure:
We will have two distinct panels:
(A) Phenomenological investigations of the Religious Life
(B) Theological challenge to Phenomenology.
Teacher courses will alternate with students conference (see the PRELIMINARY PROGRAM).
 
FEES:
Full fee: 500 € / person, including 2 nights Hotel (3 stars) in Sibiu
Discounted fee: 280 € / person, including nights youth hostel in Sibiu

The transport costs from the original location to Sibiu is to be covered by the participants.
